IAPMO Moves 2014 Technical Committee
Meetings to Las Vegas..

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical
Officials (IAPMO®) has announced that its annual Technical
Committee Meetings toward the development of the 2015
Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC®) and Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC®)
have been relocated to Las Vegas.
The April 28-May 2 meetings had previously been scheduled to
take place in St. Louis. This year’s meetings will be held
at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino on the world famous
Las Vegas Strip. Individuals anticipating an active role in
the ANSI-accredited consensus development of the Uniform
Codes can reserve rooms through March 27 at a special rate
of $119/night when they mention the IAPMO TC Meeting.

committees will be reviewing public comments to the Report
on Proposals at this year’s meetings.

Public comments on
the UPC address: roof drainage pipe sizing provisions; steps for
using the new medical gas and vacuum sizing tables; material,
water consumption and referenced standard requirements for
plumbing fixtures; applying “wet location” to showers without
thresholds; parallel distribution systems; firestop materials;
and revised Appendix A water pipe sizing provisions.
Public comments on the
UMC address: condensate control and air filter requirements; parking
garage provisions; hydronic heating and cooling systems; flexible
air ducts; smoke and fire dampers; several public comments involving
specific appliances; refrigeration; and fuel gas piping.
Technical Committee
Meeting Monographs will be available for download on March 24. The
Monographs contain every public comment submitted for the 2015
editions of the UPC and UMC as part of the American National
Standards Institute (ANSI)-accredited consensus code development
process employed by IAPMO.
