SMACNA is proud to announce this year’s guest speaker Eli P.
Howard, III, Executive Director Technical Services for
SMACNA National. As SMACNA’s Executive Director, Technical
Services, Eli has the overall responsibilities of more than
30+ SMACNA Technical and ANSI Standards related to the HVAC
and Sheet Metal Industry.
We look forward to hearing what new and updated information
Eli will bring to this year’s event.
Session 1 (Approximately 1.5-2 hours)
Fire Life Safety
This presentation provides an overview of installing,
inspecting and maintaining the various types of dampers in
HVAC systems in new and existing buildings. You will also
review how to inspect, test and maintain smoke control
systems.
Successful completion of this course will be documented with
a Certificate of Course Completion.

Session 2 (Approximately 1.5-2 hours).
HVAC Air Duct
Leakage
This session is an in depth discussion on leak testing HVAC duct.
Topics include understanding the difference between “system” leakage
and “duct” leakage, how to properly specify leakage testing, what
various codes and standards require with regard to leakage testing
and the misconceptions related to leakage testing.
AIA Credits will be available upon completion of this course. Be
sure to provide your information on the AIA sign in sheet at the end
of the session.
