Cyndi Marshall, California Chapter
Executive, Receives SMACNA’s Special Legislative Service
Award.
|
Cyndi A. Marshall, executive vice president of the
California SMACNA state association chapter (CAL SMACNA) in
Sacramento, was recognized with the Special Legislative
Service Award at the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning
Contractors’ National Association’s (SMACNA) 73rd Annual
Convention.
“The Special Legislative Service Award is one of the highest
legislative honors a contractor or chapter executive may
earn within the organization,” announced 2016 SMACNA
President Guy Gast. “This award recognizes Cyndi Marshall as
a long-standing, dedicated legislative and political leader
since entering our industry as a chapter executive more than
two decades ago.”
In addition to leading a sophisticated legislative program
in Sacramento, Cyndi also made CAL SMACNA’s voice heard
clearly and persuasively on Capitol Hill on issues we all
value,” Gast emphasized.
“She is a SMACNA chapter executive who has served our
industry so well over many decades of this association’s
history, as an active and engaged chapter manager from a
state where so many legislative and political trends begin.
Few have made more of an impact over their career.
“An active legislative force locally, regionally, and
nationally from her position as executive vice president for
CAL SMACNA and a leading member of the CAL SMACNA PAC and
legislative committees, Marshall has proven to be one of the
most effective industry representatives in the political and
policy arenas in our nation’s largest state. That is why her
list of honors and awards as she retires this year from CAL
SMACNA is such an impressive one,” Gast explained.

“Cyndi also served
as an industry issues advocate and advisor to SMACNA staff,
elected officials, and political leaders in California and
elsewhere. Issues she championed include labor-management,
prevailing wage enforcement, energy efficiency, economic
recovery and tax reform legislation. She led her association on
many legislative campaigns to improve the position of the state,
local, and national sheet metal industry,” Gast added.
Marshall served as a chair and vice-chair of SMACNA’s Council of
Chapter Representatives and was a frequent and valued supporter
of SMACNA’s political action committee SMAC PAC events locally
and at the Annual Convention. A member of SMAC PAC’s
Congressional Insiders Club (CIC), she has also been a leader
gaining attention and respect for her chapter’s political and
legislative efforts in a variety of California HVAC industry
coalitions, as well as providing industry valued input to state
and federal government officials on key industry issues.
Throughout her career, she has been an outspoken advocate of
political involvement and SMACNA’s interests in the most
important policy areas.
SMACNA, an international trade association representing 3,500
contributing contractor firms, is dedicated to promoting quality
and excellence in the sheet metal and air conditioning industry.
SMACNA has national offices in Chantilly, VA, outside of
Washington, D.C., as well as on Capitol Hill.
